how to make biryani 🥳

1 kg bone-inskinless chicken pieces 
2 cups basmati rice 1/2 cup yogurt
2 tables spoons Ginger garlic paste
1 tablespoons lemon juice 
1 teaspoons red chilli powder 
1 teaspoons garam masala 
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder 
1/4 teaspoon cumin powder 
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder 
1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder 
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup chopped cilantro 
1/4 cup chopped mint
1/4 cup fried onion 
1/2 cup oil 
Marinate the chicken in the yogurt ginger garlic paste lemon juice red chilli powder garam masala turmeric powder coriander powder cumin powder cardamom powder 
Black pepper powder and salt for at least 
30 minutes or overnight 
2 rinse the basmati rice in a bowl of water until the water runs clear soak the rice in water for at least 30 minutes 
3 Heat the oil in a large pot or pressure  cooker over medium heat add the marinated chicken and cook until brown 
On all side .
4 add the fried onions to the pot and cook for a few minutes 
5 add the rice and water to the pot the water should be about 1 inch above the rice
6 bring the water to a boil then reduce 
The heat to low and cover the pot.
7 if cooking in a pot simmer the biryani 
20-25 minutes,or until the rice is cook through.
8 if cooking in a pressure cooker, cook 
On high pressure for 3 whistles, then reduce then heat to low and cook  for 
10 minutes 
9 Ones the biryani is cooked remove
The pot from the and let it stand for 
5 minutes 
10 fluff the biryani with a fork and serve garnished with cilantro, mint, and fried onions

* For a more flavourfull biryani, ghee Of oil.
* If you don't have time to marinate the chicken you can skip this step . Howe ever the biryani will be more 
Flavourfull if the chicken marinated 
You can just the amount of spices to your 
Taste if you want a vegetarian biryani 
Substitute to make loverd biryani 
Cook the rice and chicken seperately then layer the rice and chicken 
In a pot with a layer of fried onions in between each layer cover the layer cover the pot and cook and low heat for 
10 minutes 
Serve the biryani with your favourite 
accompaniments such as raita, salad 🥗 and chutney
